New website, new WordPress, new work

Our new website

After countless hours of designing, coding, going back to the drawing board and designing all over again, the new version of pointydesign.com is now live. We have a brand spanking new design, lots of new features, and we’re running on the bleeding edge version of WordPress 3.0. Not to mention all the new projects in the portfolio!

The new design

As well as a total branding and structural overhaul, the site has been improved in a variety of little ways.

  • There are now more ways to get in touch, including a project order form
  • A  faster, more user friendly shop
  • Improved portfolio which not only showcases lots of new work but is much easier to navigate
  • Oh and did you notice that theres finally a blog?

WordPress 3.0

In the spirit of keeping on top of the latest technologies, this new site is running on the release candidate of WordPress 3.0,  the newest version of my favourite CMS to work with.  The final release is out this month and is already causing serious excitement in both the WordPress and the wider web design/develpment community, myself included.

With the release of WordPress 3.0, it can finally be said that the platform once seen as just a blogging tool has finally grown into a fully fledged CMS.  This is good news for everyone.  Good news for me because I can create more complex and sophisticated websites with less coding headaches, and good news for clients because when the websites are finished they are incredibly easy to manage and maintain.

Lots of new work in the portfolio

I’ve been working on this new website for several months now and along the way lots of projects have been completed.  There are lots of new projects in the portfolio, several of which have been milestone websites for Pointy in terms of features and functionality.  There are a few currently in the works that I can’t wait to share over the next few weeks, so check back soon!

I hope you enjoy the new website.
